Back in the early summer of 1996, Alternative Careers was being distributed regularly to homes throughout Summerside and at select locations throughout Charlottetown. People were calling in for subscriptions to the unique Entrepreneurship Newspaper, companies were filling its pages with community based stories, and companies were also investing in specialized brand awareness advertisements. CBC Radio and many other prestigious media outlets even took the time to interview publisher Corey Poirier.
Yes, times were good, and Alternative Careers, a unique Island owned product that focused completely on Island Business Successes, was flourishing. And that trend continued for the extent of the Newspaper’s publication.
Now, more than ten years, thousands of miles, and many speaking / training engagements later, the Newspaper’s publisher Corey Poirier has brought Alternative Careers back to PEI. Well, sort of. This time the newspaper will be called Career Alternatives. Nonetheless, the target market, concept, theme, and approach will all be the same. Now it’s just a matter of getting those presses rolling.
“I’m extremely excited about bringing the Newspaper back to life, and I can’t wait to get the September issue to Island Businesses,” says Publisher Corey Poirier.
Career Alternatives will be based in Charlottetown, PEI, and all Island Businesses will be encouraged to submit their unique success stories for consideration.
